I cannot update google play services as its linked to a deactivated account

Ok so a while back i graduated from highschool so the domain administraters who have control of the account deactivated it as im no longer a student with them. HOWEVER a bunch of apps, including google play services were last signed in under that highschool account. The probelm i have is that i have 2 permanent notifications about needing to update the play services and when i go to try and do that, i wont let me use a different account. It says that i must sign in with last account used because: "there has been a change to my account requiring me to sign in again" ITS DEACTIVATED THOUGH. Any help at all to fix this annoying issue would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Ps. I asked the administration at my old school if they could help my by reactivating my account so i could switch the account which was last signed in for the play services with my current day-to-day account, but they said the only way they could reactivate my account was to enroll me again in school. So thats a no go cause it would also show up on my acedemic record.

PPS. I have had this issue for close to 6 months and it has been grinding my gears ever since. Plz help

Welcome to Android Central! What if you completely remove all Google accounts from your phone, do a factory reset, and then start from scratch with your own Google account (one that isn't associated at all with the one through high school)?

Welcome to Android Central! What if you completely remove all Google accounts from your phone, do a factory reset, and then start from scratch with your own Google account (one that isn't associated at all with the one through high school)?

The problem is that i cant even delete that old account, so if i had done the reset and deleted all my other accounts, it would be for nothing as the old account would probably now be the only account on my phone.

Also i can no longer use youtube or google services as theres an update within the playstore, and i cant access the playstore as i need to sign in with the last account used, which is the deactivated account.

If you're unable to remove that old account, and you do a factory reset, does it then ask you to enter the information for that Google account again before you can get to the Setup Wizard?
