I can't activate my sprint galaxy nexus to my account NEED HELP!!

I bought a used galaxy nexus and the ESN is clean but from some reason it won't let me swap it onto my account because when you try to reset it using the ##786# it doesn't do anything...the guy at sprint says that it must of been flashed so I'm thinking that someone flashed a jellybean rom on it...but I'm confused because the phone is locked I'm not sure if you can flash when the phone is locked...I only rooted a phone once and it was a htc hero so I'm not familiar with this Odin thing I see online but I NEED HELP BAD I NEED THIS PHONE!

If you're having trouble activating, you'll need to either call sprint from a different phone number or get on chat and speak with someone. sprint.com/chat

There's not much we'd be able to help you with on that front, as the most of us aren't Sprint techs and don't have access to your account.

To make sure its not flashed to cricket or something you can enter *#*#DATA#*#* then hit view then go into data profile and make sure the user name has @sprintpcs.com . Idk if you can activate/program the phone through that menu.
