I can't answer incoming calls on my moto x 2nd gen. For incoming calls the question is asked

The phone is a moto x 2nd gen with Version 6 Marshmallow. I am retired and not a tech expert. When an incoming call is received a pop up appears at the top of the screen which asks "Decline/Answer" . However when the answer is pushed the screen goes black and the call is lost. What am I doing wrong?

Reboot your device....or factory reset your if problem still there reload your software.
