I can't do anything with my phone!! HELP PLEASE!!

I have no clue as to what is going on! I think it's because of the Google Play updates, but not sure. I can't use my phone for anything but to see what time it is and if I have voicemails or texts that need to be seen/listened to. But I can't text back because it get LG keyboard has stopped working and I can't make/receive calls. Plus I have lost the music I have downloaded onto my phone, some pictures, and contacts. I have Straighttalk for a carrier so no help from them. Can anyone help PLEASE! It is an older phone but hasn't had problems until now

Might be time for a new phone, BUT (and this might also cause data loss) maybe you can use LG's firmware tool to fix it? Here's a thread with a tutorial......
