I can't open Google assistant via voice

Sure the button is useful, but I mainly using assistant when I'm driving so it needs to be able to detect my voice. I re-set it up and it worked, but then it stopped working after I closed it and tried it again... even re-training the voice doesn't bring it up if I'm in the home screen or it's locked.

Try turning your phone off and on and going through the procedure again. Good luck.
