I deleted FriendStream from my Evo. How can I get it back???

I've obtained several friendstream.apk files, but when I run them it just says "application not installed". If anybody actually knows how I can reinstall this app, please let me know. Thanks My Evo is rooted with UnRevoked 3.21, running the stock ROM with the Sense UI. I just rooted to have access to wireless tethering and to remove apps I didn't use(which wasn't such a good idea apparently)...

I'm in the same boat. I can't believe I performed my 2.2 OTA nandroid backup AFTER deleting bloatware. Stupid!

PS. I'm sure Friendstream isn't the only apk I'm missing, either. But it's the one that's currently making my 3.29 OTA fail.

@ajd6c8, Yep, it looks like other preloaded apps that have been removed will cause this same issue, such as Footprints. I've been looking around on various forums and found that others have the same or similar issue(depending on what preloaded apps they uninstalled). So just keep your eyes(and ears) open for a solution. If I find one before u do I'll post it here. Maybe you could do the same.

Add HTCTwitter.apk to the list of MUST HAVE apps in order to update.

Luckily, sprint nascar wasn't one of them...I nuked that one and didn't keep it around.

Anyone who needs to reload the apk's and odex's for deleted apps on an UnRevoked Evo running Stock 2.2, go to the below link and download the zip. Go into the zip and look in the system\app folder and you'll find all of them there. Just pull out the ones you need and then you'll need Root Explorer(paid app) installed on your phone so that you can get into the system\app folder on your phone and copy them there. Once you do this the OTA update should work fine. You can also follow along on the link that ajd6c8 provided above which has more details.

Reinstall preloaded Evo apps

I just rooted my Evo with unrEVOked. I got excited with being able to remove preloaded apps, so I deleted bunch of things that seemed to be safe to remove. the only problem that i face now is that I dont get the facebook contacts no more. I tried to go to menu> accounts & sync and the facebook account was not there. So i tried to add it back but it does not function. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue? thanks in advance

what you need to do is just hold your finger down the screen where you want it, then once the menu pops up, click widget. then find the friend stream widget it and place it back on your home screen. hope this helps!

dude you just bumped a 7 month old thread...the OP already found his solution....also he deleted the app completely out of the system...he couldnt add it back onto his homescreen by long-pressing << besides, i think he wouldve tried that first.

i see this is your first post and i dont mind you trying to contribute....but please read the thread you want to contribute into first b/c it might be OLD or the problem already solved

Hey guys, give the bumper a break! At least he didn't start a whole new thread for something that has already been covered like is done about 5 times a day on Androidcentral -- with nobody every merging the threads ( try a search for all of the "can't update app" threads that are out there!). Kudos for bumper to actually search and find a thread to post in instead of blindly starting a new one.

I am so stuck.
After I rooted my phone I deleted the Friendstream app and now my phone will not stop syncing. I have tried to install the friendstream.apk using Astro and appinstaller and both say "application not installed". I have saved both the com.htc.friendstreamwidget.apk and the friendstream.apk to the root of my SD as well as under downloads and nothing seems to work. I am not sure how to move forward. I would really appreciate the help. Thank you.
