I deleted "phone", now can't make calls/texts...ARGH!
I have the South Korean F350S version, with Android 4.4.2. It's unlocked and rooted.
I was using CCleaner, going through the long list of system apps. For whatever reason, I deleted "phone", and now this thing won't get any reception bars, nor make any calls, nor any texts. Everything else works (WiFi, internet, etc.), but basic cellular modem/phone functions fail.
I guess I deleted the basic phone hardware "driver"??? LOL. I thought I was just deleting the homescreen app that the user interacts with to make phone calls. ARGH!
OK, so I downloaded ES File Explorer, and Undeleter. I got Undeleter to recognize and recover a bunch of .apk and .zip files to a storage file on the SD card, but most of the recovered files just have numbers for names for example, "recovered_file_243679.apk, or .zip). I have no idea what the files are for, there's just a generic icon, and the file size listed.
Is it possible to reinstall the basic phone "driver" (.apk?) to get my cell phone get reception and calling again WITHOUT reinstalling the whole system from scratch?
Or if I did indeed erase the phone system app, would a system recovery even be a solution? Someone on another forum suggested that restoring the phone might now work either because I erased the "phone" file from the system apps. But I don't know if that's the case or not.
