Maybe.. Depends on usage. At those speeds... It is pointless.
At least you don't have to worry about all those apps people have running sucking up the data plan.

That's fixable using the Android data settings that are built into data usage. You can easily lock down apps so they can't run in the background and use data unless you're on wifi..
Either way, unlimited data whether it is throttled or not is better than any set gb data plan.

It would depend on your needs, but I wouldn't say that is true in all cases. For example, Tmobile's base simple.choice plan is unlimited but throttled after 1gb. For someone using say 2gb,it might be better for some to get a 2gb tiered high speed plan on Verizon which isn't unlimited .

I guess you will be ok when your ISP does this too?

Do you mean his home ISP? ISPs for home have a harder argument since they can resolve any congestion issues with money... Whereas the wireless carriers have limited spectrum.
If more everything didn't cost me $30-40 dollars more like the website is quoting I'd switch if they offered the 6 GB plan in lieu of UDP. But unlimited minutes and mobile hotspot aren't worth 30-40 dollars more a month on a family plan with 1 smartphone and 2 basic phones. So I will wait till they pull it out from under me.

You will eventually go over the data plan and wish you never gave up the unlimited plan.
I disagree. If data usage has been consistently within a range that shows a person they don't need an UDP then there is no reason to keep it if they can save money by letting it go. I held on for a long time and then finances dictated a change was needed. Been off UDP for a very long time and have saved money because I was willing to let UDP go. Whoever said don't keep it just because someone tells you to is exactly right.
I also agree with this. I gave my UDP up a year ago. Only reason I needed it was no home internet, now with home WiFi I never come close to 2 GB let alone my 6GB limit. And I'm up for another subbed phone next year. Sweet. Bottom line is not everyone's needs are the same as someone else's .I disagree.
