Okay I know there are threads out there that discuss this but I am having problems fallowing any of them right now. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong but I just want to go back to a stock rom with out being rooted. I used unrevoked not the forever, I have clockwork, the rom I am using is ava v10, hardware version 0003.

Any helps on locating the new RUU or others and instructions would be much appreciated.

I used this method (It was quick and easy) to unroot so I could take my phone in for a warranty problem.... Took longer to download the two files than it took to physically unroot..

If you don't mind me asking could you share with us the reason(s) of wanting to get unrooted.

I want to unroot because I just got my phone fixed from sprint for free. The guy replaced pretty much everything on my phone for free since I was paying for insurance, I had my camera lens cracked and the volume button crack and bright spots on my screen.

After he fixed my phone and turned it on he saw that it was rooted and said that he wouldn't have done any of that if he knew I was rooted first. But since he fixed it my LED flash isn't working, he must of screwed something up during the repair. So I want to unroot my phone and go get it fixed again.

EDIT: Also I want to say thanks to everyone who has posted some help so far. I haven't tried anything posted yet but I will in just a second.

I know rooting voids your warranty, but if you are paying insurance, I think they should fix it without any problems.

It probably all depends on the tech who is working on your phone and how much they care about you being rooted or not. It's my advice to just make a nandroid of your current setup, return it to stock and then bring it in for service, then bring it home, root it and restore your nandroid.

I have been trying to fallow the two step guide but when i get to the part where it tries to apply the pc36img to my phone it says "main version is older!" "update fail"

I am not sure what I am doing wrong here.

So I am guessing that you are saying it is a problem with my hboot version? My hboot version is 0.93.000 and as of right now clockworkmod says it has s-on so the last part is getting that pc36img applied right? Do I need a different image? Sorry if I don't understand what you wanted me to in that thread.

I don't know.... A friend of mine works for Sprint and he works repairing phones.. I have known him since we were kids (almost 20 years now) and when my phone started freezing up on me I had him look at it on a personal level and he felt it was hardware not software that was causing it to freeze up.... He told me to unroot and give it back to him and he will see if he can repair it or get me a warranty replacement since it's still under the HTC warranty.... Even knowing each other for almost 20 years he told me to unroot first or he wouldn't touch it and once I get it either fixed or replaced root it again.....

Now that isn't to say if you dropped it off at your local sprint store fully rooted the guy wouldn't just repair it or send off for a refurbished warranty replacement, Just saying to be on the safe side I unrooted and gave it to him this morning to see what he can figure out with it.....

@Robbie Yes this is exactly what I want to do also.

EDIT: Okay so I feel like I have gotten somewhere but I am still doing something wrong. This morning I was able to install the first froyo build onto my phone, so now I am on 3.29.651.5, I still have s-on. I can go to HTC software update and it will download the new 3.70 but when I try to update it the phone reboots and then I get an android with a exclamation mark inside a triangle.

This is so exciting that I have to post right now. I finally got my phone to accept the pc36img.zip so it is doing that right now. I will post back in a minute to let you know how everything is when it is done!

EDIT: Okay everything is working great. My phone is even applying updates right now. So just a recap on what I did to get everything working. I was on AVA V10 nandroided back to stock rom, but it wouldn't let me apply the pc36img so then I still had a old stock rom update.zip on my sdcard and flashed that through clockworkmod and then tried to unroot again and I had s-on and it finally applied the pc36img.

Thanks everyone who helped me out. I am going to go get my phone fixed by sprint later today now.
