Okay, so using cars as an analogy may not be the best idea. What do you think a better analogy would be that most are familiar with?

Why do we need analogies? Why can't we just say what we mean?

Well as my post said there is no real argument as it's a preference thing.. No one is wrong for liking one over the other. If they say it fits them better.. No one can change that.

this is my 5th time trying android and i have always gone back to iphone. why is this? i know over all android is superior in everything but everytime i use the android it seems like its just worse off in everyway for battery, camera, speed, texting and anything else. i have the lg g2 but been an iphone user my whole life. what do i do to stay on android. any suggestions?
You pretty much hit it on the head. Android is worse off in everyway for battery, camera, speed, texting BUT and only but, it is much more open than IOS. Android isn't close to being as refined as IOS but I will say this, if the Moto X had even a half way decent camera I would have kept mine.
I don't even know where to start with this....

If you're like me, it's probably across the board disagreement. Android devices are clearly faster at most tasks, have many more hardware options, have three of the top 5 camera phones out for mainstream consumption, the x, g2 and maxx get astounding battery life given what they're pushing and the capacity and while some OEM's provide a disjointed experience, android itself caught up to general ui cohesiveness and smoothness at the end of 2011. I'm surprised to see that argument resurface.
Some or these things are subjective and some require qualifications, such as of course pushing double the pixels three times as fast takes more battery, but to do that and still win isn't exactly slouching. Both systems are good at different things, but that list seemed to be entirely the things that android is and has steadily been winning at for quite some time.

Yeah, about that...I suppose it depends on what constitutes faster. I find that doing a task is faster on Android, such as sharing, but tasks execute faster on iOS.
The thing I like about iPhone cameras is that they do not compromise on the quality to still have great camera software. They are not the best, but they are always among the best as far as quality, and the software is always easy and intuitive to use. I have a lot of iPhone criticisms, but the camera aint one of them.Though there are better cameras, one of the best all round cameras still seem to be the iPhone. Pull out and shoot, get a nice shot.
That used to be a huge advantage of iOS...but I think Android phones have finally spammed enough hardware at the problem to make it go away. If you look at that video, you can see the nexus is easily as fast and smooth. My iPhone works perfectly. Everything is there, the apps are well designed, I love iOS7, nothing stutters or lags AT ALL.
If you are coming on here as a non-phone nerd looking for opinions on what phone to buy, these debates can be very useful. Not everyone is aware of the assets and drawbacks of each platform like we are. That is true even of tech professionals like engineers. Being an engineer does not necessarily mean they are familiar with all the features of the major phone OS platforms.IOS, Android, WP, BB10 all have their virtues, and you shouldnt care what someone else chooses.
And everyone is entitled to an oprion. But in a forum like this, I do not think it is unreasonable to expect someone to be able to give specifics on why they prefer one over the other.I hear a lot of criticisms of both iOS and android since I frequent both AC and iMore forums. I won't go at length but there are legitimate pros and cons to each platform. We can dissect it through and through but to some the S4 is simply better than the 5s, the 5c better than the Moto X.

If you say "just because" it leads people to believe you might just be motivated by trends or the logo or whatever. And I think that is a huge criticism of Apple people...that they buy technology based on an image rather than what it is actually doing for them.
Yeah, about that...

Thats a direct comparison between an iPhone 5S and Nexus 5. I used to think the same thing you do, but now I have to wonder if iOS really is faster.

Of course, iOS is able to achieve this on even lower end hardware. The Nexus 5 is one the the best Android phones you can get right now.

My iphone never studders or lags because apple wont let any software out on it that might push it to its limit. And I love that, I dont ever want to use my device to its full potential because I am just way to impatient for that. I wanna wanna what I want and I wanna wanna it now. And if I haft to sacrafice a few clock cycles and give up that extra computing for the prettyer graphics of (insert application here) then so be it. Atleast I am not frustrated and throwing my stupid studdering droid on the floor.
Now that I hope everyone is laughing on both sides.

Lol so you're saying you're loving only getting 60% worth of your phone because you like that Apple doesn't push it to the limit? Strange
