Hello everyone, I had to have my speaker/ringer speaker replaced about a month ago. Everything is great and my local rep even waived the $35 charge.(I dont have the monthly insurance cause i have it under state farm)
I was quite happy with the service I received.

So my phone rings yesterday and low and behold, my speaker is shot again... I'm pretty bummed out but ok no biggie. I answer the phone this morning and now my earpiece is all blown and crackly to... :(. Not to mention I'm starting to get "hot" spots on my screen that are brighter than the rest of the screen. Are other people having speakers go on them like this? I rarely use the speaker for music and when I do it's about 50% volume and that about where i keep my ringer volume to.

Will all the issues get replaced for $35 or will i have to pay separately for all?

they will fix everything for 35, but since this is a repeat occurance and now the screen will have to be replaced as well they may just give you a new one. It will be a refurb, but don't worry, refurbs get a bad rep but they are basically new phones. it may cost you the 35 this time, who knows. if you take it back to the same store, they may do it for free...

launch day Evo, use it for speakerphone and music set to 3/4 full volume and havent had a speaker issue at all. Add TEP, its an extended warranty plus insurance rather than state farm standard insurance, which im sure doesnt cover manu defects and normal wear and tear

How interesting, I was going to post a speaker issue also so I think I'll use this post to do it. I bought my EVO a week ago and I have intermittent ear speaker pops and crackles. Outside speaker is great just the speaker when I'm on a call. My question is that it only happens on some , not all calls. If this is a hardware issue wouldn't it happen all the time? Best Buy couldn't recreate the pops and crackles so I kept the phone when I went in to exchange it. They said if it happens more often to bring it in and they will replace it. Should I just exchange it now and get it over with or let ride and see if the problem gets worse? Do any others besides the original poster and me have this issue? Please help.... Thanks.
