I hate the "Direct Dial" icons in Froyo. Any way to change back to the normal icons?

In 2.1, when I put a "direct dial" shortcut on one of my homescreens, I would get the whole contact picture. With all the versions of 2.2 that i have tried (dc's, cm's) i get this phone icon that covers 25% of the contact picture.

I really like sense 2.2 and loved the native direct dial in 2.1, but i cant do it anymore in 2.2. maybe i'll try anycut or better cut.

someone please tell me a way to fix it. does anyone else feel the same way about it?

that is ridiculous. if you find a fix then let me know. i use direct dial too.

Just delete the shortcut and add it again as a contact shortcut.

hmmm. let me see if i got this correct..

what i use to do and did in the picture in the first post...

tap and hold on screen, select "short cut", select "direct dial", pic the person, select the number i want to set short cut to dial.

what you (phil) said to do. a contact shortcut. which i think is more of a "person" shortcut.

Same results.... seems like the same shortcut just a different way of getting it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but i still need a fix. i tried anycut, but it puts an "M" in the contact picture that is just as bad.

Sense speed dials suck too

The sense way of handling this sucks too though. Here's why: it doesn't give you any way of knowing whether the number is a mobile, work, home, etc. So if I want to add a speed dial for my wife's cell and her work number, I end up with 2 icons that are identical and I have to just remember which is which.

My coworker has a Droid and it puts a little "m" or "w" in the corner of the icon so you know which icon is for what number.

it still really sucks... either make them half the size they are now or get rid of them... anyone know a way?

You can change icon, turn on/off overlays for phone type (mobile/home) and change the text. One touch direct dial or message. This will solve your needs.

Please explain better. I don't understand how to do this to fix the ugly icons.
I accidentally deleted 1 of my previous quick contact icons and now I have all of them the nice full old photos except for this 1 new shortcut and I absolutely hate it!!!
