Problem Solved Finally! (Keep scrolling down to the 03/20/2012 post) Why oh why do the media players stop after the screen times out/locks?
I have made all the previously suggested selections regarding screen timeout length, I have made sure that none of the apps are being controlled by the task killer, etc.

Everything is fine when connected to power, but I am talking about when I am walking, working out at the gym, or otherwise not connected to the charger. It happens with, Pandora, iheartradio, mediau, AND Slacker. When the phone is not connected to the charger and the screen times out, the streaming stops. Sooooo frustrating and I think it has something to do with GB. But I really don't know. Please throw some good answers this way.

I to have the same problem. Can't tell you why it does it but i have my own little fix. Install keepAwake and when your using your media players turn it on and then hit the lock button so you don't ass dial someone or some other crap.

I have been having this same problem since I got my DroidX2. It IS very annoying. It does not happen exclusively by screen timeout (never noticed that and i just turned the screen off and it is still playing.) It happens when I am charging or not. I normally use a Jabra BT8010 stereo bluetooth headset. I almost never use a corded headset. I have recently started using a command one droid bluetooth headset and a jawbone jambox bluetooth. While the problem has not been completely eradicated, it does happen far less frequently. Using the old headsets I cannot seem to get through a single song without it stopping multiple times. With the 2 new devices, the music continues quite a while. earlier today on the jambos it played for well over an hour without stopping. Using the command one right now and it has stopped once after 5 minutes but no problems since. Maybe just an old BT stack incompatability?

An update..

I was trying to use my music player today with the new bT headsets and the problem got progressively worse. Need a fix to this.

I noticed this as well, but Double Twist isn't effected by this.

Problem solved for me. :)

I finally figured it out!!! Juice Defender was interfering with all these media players. Somewhere there was an update to JD, (probably several by now) that began to kill some of these processes. I never really noticed since it was such a small app that only did a few things when I first installed it over a year ago. When I looked at it again, there were a ton of features that I didn't really want and never realized were taking place. I uninstalled that bad boy and now I can go to the gym and not worry about it!!! What a load off.
