The Note 10.1 came in two versions -- the original in 2013, and a 2nd version in 2014. There's no 2016 version (unless you're actually talking about a different Samsung tablet, like the Tab A.


The 2013 and 2014 versions are way too old to have any recent updates. Can you tell us what the exact model number of the tablet is? Go to Settings>About Tablet​ to find that info.
