I have a nice 4 inch Samsung Tablet

I really like my Samsung Fascinate. It does all the extra stuff incredibly well (web, games, social networks) however, when it comes to "dumb" phone or feature phone stuff it fails miserably. The "phone" won't place or answer calls and send or receive texts. I have to pull the battery at least once a day to unfreeze the phone. So, my fascinate will be my tablet fill-in until I purchase a real tablet sometime this summer.

yes it is stock. this is the second android "phone" that has done this too me. I had an HTC Hero and to call it a paper weight would be an injustice to paper weights. I ended up rooting the Hero and running a CM6 nightly on it but to no avail.

The pre 2 that i'm using as a replacement has so far (fingers crossed) been stellar. It just doesn't have the glitz and glamour of the fascinate.

I don't know, a very few people have said things like this. I might try and flash the comrom on the fassy and then if that fails out talk to one of the really intelligent people around here to work out the kinks....

Take it to the store and say "This phone is not a phone, what is wrong" My guess is that it is just not connecting to Verizon.
