I have a Pixel 2 and, I'm thinking of buying the S9. Should I?

Jeez, what to do... What to do. So, the reviews on the S9 are really good. And I'm extremely tempted on trading in my Pixel 2 for the S9. I'd really like some input? I do enjoy the Pixel 2 but the S9 intrigues me.

Would some of you guys and gals give me some guidance please? Thx so much...

Keep both and enjoy them

I bought the Pixel 2XL. In my limited testing, I wasn't impressed with the camera and there are no camera "pro" settings. There is no optical zoom. Low light photos are full of noise and colors are washed out. I did NOT take any outdoor photos before buying the S9+. Both are going to do a good job outside. It's the indoor shots that get tricky. I did take a (well lit) indoor selfie with my grandson with the Pixel and it turned out GREAT! The dual aperture camera on the S9+ was a feature I wanted....f1.5 offers more light in low light and less noise.

I like the expandable storage, wireless charging and headphone jack (thank you Samsung). You can add up to 400GB of micro sd storage. Fast charging is faster on the S9+ vs the Pixel. THAT SCREEN DISPLAY! I use the heart rate, stress and O2 sensors and with the S9+ you have a blood pressure monitor. Yes, it works. I've tested it several times today against my home bp cuff. Each test has been similar.

I have used an app from the Play Store to remap the Bixby button to pull up Google Assistant :) The squeeze feature of the Pixel to bring up GA was the only thing I was going to miss and now I have it doing basically the same thing.

I haven't been disappointed with one of my Galaxy S phones and this one is proving to be the best yet. Did you know you can turn the Home page in landscape mode??? I've yet to try the SUPER slow mode and from what I've seen on YT, it can be tricky but I'm looking forward to trying it.

Oh, yes, buy the S9(+) :)

Here is an image I put together with a reading from my bp cuff and from the S9+. Results were within 3-4 minutes.

I doubt everyone would use the heart rate monitor etc., so I would not judge a device on that. Pixel 2 camera is more than adequate so much so that I am getting rid of my dslr since it is a pain to use each time and lug around. I never have it when I need it and for kids it is not practical to lug around.
Yes the s9 hw may be better but execution and software is a major thing. Search for Max lee and his comparison of the s9 and s9 with pixel camera software etc. and see. I would say if you have to hack and want to hack, then get an s9 and hack it. Otherwise stick to the Pixel. I would not use super slow mo often if ever, that said the P20 camera looks to be better than the S9 as well so it pretty much comes down to what you are chasing.

Great HW and mediocre software - P20
Great HW and good software but mostly gimicky software? - S9
Good ++ (almost great HW) and Great Software - Pixel 2 (everyday use)

I would probably use the zoom on the P20 over the slow mo on the s9. Although I would probably not use either much.

My choice is Pixel 2 xl.

Whats gimicky software?

Whats gimicky software?
Software that are perceived as gimmicks and not really useful. For example, many feel that the Edge panels are gimmicky and provide no real improved usability. Personally I use a few of the Edge panels though.

I prefer Samsung personally, but I also wouldn't trade in that new of a phone unless you're on something like T-Mobile jump.

I've got a huge crush on pink s9+. but I have note 8 and it's pretty much the same phone. a little smaller though... and i want to wait for note 9. but i doubt it'll come in pink color
