Seeing yours gives me hope that maybe my phone is the culprit. I am not in any poor reception area. I spend my days in NYC, Queens, and Nassau County. I find it hard to believe that this entire area has poor reception, yet I can't seem find a spec of green in my signal meter bar. Not once since I got the phone. I travel around these areas all day, different parts everyday, so its not like I'm stuck in two dead zones, between home and work.
What we need to see is more comparisons between the GNex, the Razr and the Rezound in the same locations. So at work I know to just flip my phone to 3G to have less battery drain and fewer issues, unless I bring a charger, in which case I'll leave it on 4G. If you happen to live somewhere which resembles my job site, then that sucks and I feel for you, I wouldn't be able to deal. Obviously since my apartment gets consistently good signal and no issues, I'm much happier with my phone.
I charged mine at work just before leaving today. It shows 3.5 hours since off charge, but all green and yellow. No red. But, look at the first pic - 65% of the time no signal!??!! Huh?? But all green/yellow. Maybe it shows no signal when its on wifi? I am on the edge of the official VZW 4G signal at home, and use wifi at home. But, I never noticed a time without a signal, and have never noticed any issues at home or during my commute. Ten minutes after the first pic, it is up to 67% of the time without a signal.
Edit: Birmingham, AL

Here is mine. 3g only area here. I will do another one in the area around my house that has lte later.
Here's mine for the day, looks like mine is showing green all day, but I do find 2% without a signal.
Unfortunately, I think comparing the GNex to the Charge is comparing apples to apples.I can do this with my GN and my wife's Charge. If you want it then let me know.

I have the same issue with my GNex - doesn't hold or grab onto the 4G signal. I wish I knew someone with another Android to see if it is my GNex that is the problem.Unfortunately, I cant post any screenshots because I no longer have it, but I did use the Rezound in the same house I use the Gnex.
Rezound = extremely fast and never lost 4G signal. Gnex = much slower; only connects to 3G. No 4G signal.
Frustrating.
Here's mine. I was in the office today for 8 hours which is known to have weak 4G and 3G signals. I wasn't able to watch the phone like a hawk but when I did have a chance to look all seemed well.
I actually have two co-workers, one with a Razr and one with a Charge but they are both on vacation this week so I can't compare the 3 phones.
FYI that I'm still running 4.0.1. Haven't upgraded as things seem fine at the moment.

I live in Queens, work at JFK, and travel often to Nassau to visit family/take the kids to school. I ALWAYS have 4G (except for certain places in JFK where celllular penetration is very weak).

This is why I truly believe there are a bad batch of phones. I am in the same areas and have NONE of these problems.
EDIT: For the sake of simplicity, I will attach it here too. Remember, the area I am in there is only Verizon service and it is very weak. Sprint, ATT, and T-Mobile users have no signal while I barely maintain it. Still, I do not have a ton of red like others.
