Android Central Question

I have a Samsung S10 with T-Mobile software, model type SM-G973U
Would it be possible to flash it with 'normal' software (no carrier) so I can use it since it won't let me use my own sim card. I want to use it abroad.

Some say I can some say it cannot be done. Who knows for sure ? :-)

Seems your phone is "carrier locked". Once you pay off the phone you can and will get an unlock code if you request it. As long as you are staying with an Android GSM card you should be able to get service where you find a GSM cell provider at your destination. Good luck and travels

Agree with the rest even flashing to unlocked firmware which you can , if it's not sim unlocked won't be able to use different carrier

Let's say that T-Mobile won't help me since the phone is no longer in the US and I want to use with a sim card from abroad.
Are you saying that I can't use the phone? Reflashing the phone to a non-carrier-software won't do the trick then? Are there any other options?

Yes if phone is locked to TMobile, going abroad won't let another sim work , neither flashing the unlocked firmware.
Option 1. Call TMobile to unlock
Option 2. Use a reputable sim unlock service
