I have a Verizon branded Nexus 6

And I have a SIM for Fi laying in wait for when I finally pay off the phone and contract, and make the switch.

But I am curious, is the Verizon branded N6 SIM locked to Verizon? Will I need an unlock code from Verizon for the Fi SIM to work?

Nope. I used my Verizon nexus with fi just fine.

And just to be sure, you got your Nexus 6 from Verizon, with the Verizon brand on it correct? You swapped SIM's and it worked with no problem or asking for an unlock code for the SIM?

You can just put the Project Fi SIM card into the Nexus 6 and it will work. All VZW LTE phones are sold unlocked, so that's not a concern. I use a VZW branded Nexus 6 on Project Fi with no problems.

Same here. Verizon branded N6, purchased directly from Verizon. Just popped the fi sim in and was good to go.
