I have an exclamation mark by my email icon

Like most everyone I have been fighting with the changes since the oreo update. One main problem is the loss of the unread count on apps. I updated the Samsung email app and now I have an exclamation mark where you would expect the count to be. Can't figure out why or how to get rid of it. Anyone with a similar problem or a solution?

Well I finally figured out it was a Tesla Unread app problem. I updated it and did a restart and now the unread badges all seem to be working again. This is what I was seeing before. That was only on the email app, the others were working after a little messing around.
