I have an LG mobile phone. Why are my contacts being merged????

What on earth is allowing my contacts to be merged, even if they are not associated!!!! Annoying and scary if they are merged with someone I haven't talked to (or want to talk to!) in years!! How do I stop this madness?

Hi, usually merging of contacts only happens if the recipient shares the same mobile number / name / email address. Do you have instances where two completely different people have been merged together?
