I have bricked my evo 4g and cant seem to unbrick it

My Evo 4g is bricked. When i power on it stays on the white HTC EVO 4G screen for unlimited time (never goes away). When i hboot and go into recovery it shows my phone with an exclamation mark in a triangle. i got a microSD card adapter so i could acess my card on the computer i downloaded a RUU file and named the folder PC36IMG.zip. when turned on in hboot it recognizes the zip fille but wont ask me to update. this is where i got hung up after reading another similar post on here. thanks for your help if possible
