I have changed from Apple to HTC

After iOS 8 hits, how much of a advantage does android still have? Seems like it's pretty much a match now.

In your eyes maybe. Having used all the iPhone lineup except 5s and several different high end android devices I can tell you I didn't switch to android for keyboards or widgets. I prefer stock keyboards on both operating systems and widgets are just battery drainers to me. One reason I decided to switch was screen size, the other is how locked down iOS is. Just because you can now add certain "widgets" to notification and switch keyboards doesn't mean iOS is any less locked down. The fact that videos still have to go full screen when viewed on a website still exists. If you don't like the home screen you still can't change it. Fact that you still can't chose your default browser. Plenty of other things still makes android stand out.

I am not trying to bash iOS. In fact I like iOS just as much as I like android. But if you are doing a comparison it's like comparing Apple and oranges. In this case apples and kit Kat. But have good and bad. It's all personal preference.

We'll, Apple has there extensibility thing now, which open up apps to talk to one another.

I agree that android is still more open and customizable. I'm just saying iOS might now be customizable enough for most people now.

Picked up my M8 in grey today and LOVE it!!
Couldn't wait till the end of the month!

Play Music Manager probably can help with this. Download it, upload your music there, and it will help reconvert many of the file types.
From there, you can either redownload the files to your PC to allow plain drag and drop, or you can stream or pin the song from within the Play Music app.

iTunes uses a different file type? I thought it used MP3.

As far as I know it can use mp3, but iTunes uses a different format (.wav I think) as a standard. I may be wrong as well, but the description of Play Music Manager is worded something like aiding in transferring of files from iTunes. I was under the impression that the formats were different.

A month and a half ago I traded my 5s for the M8 and haven't went back yet. I miss some features of IOS though like iMessages, the keyboard, and Siri but I love this htc m8 it's a very great phone I will be keeping this until the iPhone 6 comes out.

Just FYI...the format that Apple iTunes uses for their music is AAC.

Poorly made....LOL...Oh Okay

Yep. I own a 5S and a M8 and I wouldn't in a million years call an iPhone poorly made.

Posted from who cares, because I have better things to do than care about what phone's in my hand or yours. It's a phone. Not important.

Android and iOS are even?

Not for long. Google's developer conference is coming up soon, and I bet they'll have some awesome new features to implement.

A couple of you are reading too much into iOS 8. The new extensibility is only limited to a few notification panel widgets and keyboards. They're not providing the system-wide app interoperability android has. iOS 8 has not evened things out.

How is iOS 8's implementation not "system wide"?

If the iPhone and pretty much any flagship Android phone were released tomorrow, there wouldn't be many iPhones sold

You're missing the point

Two brand new devices with no predecessors, released tomorrow, not many would buy iPhones

Took me a second but I know what you are saying now, and I don't honestly know, it would probably be even simply because the non tech savvy customers would go more on appearance (hardware AND software) and ease of use, which Apple still has to many consumers.

Even if they don't, iOS is nowhere near even. They added a lot of functionality that brings it up a heap in a usability standpoint, probably enough to keep many of the sheep, but the UI is still an outdated piece of garbage. A new color palette and control center doesn't fix that.

Of course that's all my opinion. Many people love its simplicity.

I am also an Apple convert, have had every iphone since the beginning, and loved it absolutely no problems at all with any of them, but I wanted a bigger screen and didn't want to wait. Both phones are awesome..the android does have alot of extras, like widgets, customizing, etc. I really love the HTC, got it this weekend, and for me it is a real learning curve, but I am getting it with the help of alot of you guys!

There are very few things in the world that are more fun than learning something new!
