I have no idea how to fix my device

So I successfully rooted my HTC One M8 a few weeks ago, no problems there, however I could not manage to get S-OFF. The methods I could find did not work for me, so then I tried Sunshine and TowelRoot, neither of those worked for me eitiher. At that point I had decided to give up for now and try again another day, and today was that day. I thought that maybe the reason Sunshine wasn't working on my device was because it was already rooted, so I tried to remove it. This was when everything started going wrong.

I succeeded in re-locking my device and it says so, as well as "TAMPERED" on the flashboot screen. But root-checking apps and SuperSU still tell me that it's rooted, so I tried unrooting again with SuperSU, but it just simply refuses to unroot and uninstall the program. Next I realised that I can't even access recovery mode, it just loops and restarts every time I try to access it. I had TWRP installed. Despite my attempts in trying to re-install a recovery program in many different ways, I've had no luck. I even tried factory resetting the device but the factory reset also loops whenever I try to access it via fastboot. The last thing I have tried was finding a RUU, but I could not find any information anywhere about how to actually go about the process, except for via recovery mode and with the ADP command prompt, neither of which will work for me.

My flashboot details are:

*** TAMPERED ***
*** RELOCKED ***
M8_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-3.18.0.0000
RADIO-INVALID_VER_INFO
OpenDSP-INVALID_VER_INFO
OS-2.11.708.2
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Sep 2 2014,16:18:23.26977

And my getvar is:

(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 2.11.708.2
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON

Please, any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery twrp.zip(or whatever your recovery is named)
fastboot erase cache(yes, again)
fastboot reboot
See if it boot loops again. If not, I would recommend trying for s-off again to flash your firmware. Did you receive an ota update?

Its because you locked the bootloader. You need to unlock it again to install recovery. Sunshine should work even if you are rooted. Are you on a custom rom?

First step works fine, but when I try to do the flash recovery it comes up with the error message: "'flashboot is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." If by OTA update you mean system update, then yes, I believe I was originally on 4.4.2, and now I'm on 4.4.3.

No, I'm on stock.

You definitely need to unlock your bootloader again, like Benny said. I completely missed that when I put in my first response. Then do the serious I have you. And make sure you have the latest twrp as well.

I think I made it even worse :-\
I successfully unlocked the bootloader again and installed the latest version of TWRP, which solved my recovery looping issue. I then decided to do a factory reset, but also checked all of the advanced options like "internal storage, external storage, sd-ext, android_secure". Which means I think I have completely wiped any software off of my device too... now it's just stuck on the start screen, I'm assuming because it has nothing installed to actually boot into. Have I completely screwed my device or is this fixable?

UPDATE: I managed to reboot into recovery mode but I am unsure of where to go from here, trying ADB sideload doesn't seem to work for me.

Well I managed to install Android Revolution HD and get it working again, but still no luck with Sunshine.

Are you getting any errors? I think you need a rom as close to stock, Flash a stock rooted rom and then try again
