I have set up iCloud email on an android phone but keep getting 'your iCloud setting is out of date'

I have set up the android phone with the same username and password as on my iPad device which works ok. But it does not seem to work on my Microsoft lumina 650 phone. I keep getting the same message 'your settings are out of date' I have tried resetting a number of times.i

Try what I just did and go into yr apple ID. Go to security and ask for app specific pass code. Copy it and enter it as yr password when signing into set up I cloud email
