I have the HTC 10 thinking about the HTC u11 or the pixel 2

thank you every one I appreciate all The responses. I am still pretty much on the fence between the pixel 2 the 5-inch one and the HTC u11. Got to wait a couple months anyways before I buy it. though I saw a HTC u11 on swapa for 485 what do you guys think.

I changed from a U11 to the regular Pixel 2 and if definitely recommend it.

I'm confused do you mean you recommend the pixel 2 or the u11. Since you had both can you give me a little background on why you switched to the pixel 2

The software is an afterthought on the U11. It's a lovely phone but that element is just so half assed that you wonder if they are bothered at all. Dated looking and ugly ugly stock apps too. Absolutely forgotten for updates also.
The screen is a lot better on the Pixel 2, it's more pale but there's no light bleed. Camera on the Pixel is better, though it's very good on the HTC too.
And most importantly, you can reach the back button on the Pixel 2. It might not sound like much but every time you have to press it when using the U11 one-handed you have to shuffle the phone about that you risk dropping it. Such a stupid placement of the capacitive keys.

The only reason I'd stick with the HTC is if audio quality is the most important thing to you.

I saw someone else say something about stock apps... What HTC apps do y'all have on the u11 bc I only had HTC dialer and HTC connect and the keyboard on my HTC 10 all the rest are Google apps

Yes but the home buttons and the cat buttons on the bottom of phone on the HTC u11 why did the reach to the back of the HTC u11. I agree that the software is any better on the pixel 2 however I got a pretty good updates on the HTC at 10 so I'm pretty sure it's just she is doing pretty good to u11. Let me know if I'm wrong.

also audio quality is pretty important to me I do listen to music a lot. but I want software to be good as well. but my phone is just restarting on me a lot or I wouldn't replace my she's taking cuz I like it alot. I've tried everything so I'm just think about replacing since I'm out of warranty. I'm just on the fence between the you 11 and the pixel 2. how is the audio quality through headphones with the pixel 2 using the adapter. cuz I might get really good Bluetooth headphones or really good type-c headphones from Google

The software one probably isn't as big a deal for most of you as it's an EU one I have, so the US U11 probably is supported. The 10 suffered the same fate in Europe too and was forgotten about by HTC.

here's an update with my situation. so I decided to get the HTC u11 because I got it for about 470. I'll probably pick up the pixel 2 or the pixel 3 when it comes out. my current HTC 10 has decided to work. so I'll probably keep this one going as a backup as I will receive my HTC u11 on Monday. and I think they see you 11 is a good phone for a 5.5 inch phone.

I was a long time Google device user and switched. They bricked my Nexus 7 and refused to do anything about it. My Nexus 6 struggled through multiple software issues and failed updates. I chose the U11 this time and am totally happy. As far as I am concerned, Google fails to support their phones properly and when they have issues it will literrally take them forever to address and fix. After using the HTC U11, I will never go back.
