Hey,

Can you connect a bluetooth device and then try using a voice search in Google Now and see if it get's stuck in "Initializing" phase?

I have the same settings for almost everything. The only differences being that I have email sync set to manual so it never even tries to check. Other wise I think I have the same settings as you do. I'm at 25 percent after being off the charger for 9 hours... Maybe I'm missing something?

That's odd. Any clues on the Battery monitor? If there are no crazy culprit apps sucking up battery, then I would have them order you a replacement battery. If there's still an issue, it might be the phone. I had that experience with my Galaxy S3 out-of-the-box... it turned out to be the phone. But hey, maybe it will just be the battery or, even better, just some rogue app.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that it might be your signal. If your phone is struggling to maintain a signal, or switching between networks frequently, it can burn the battery faster. Apparently, this phone is supposed to be better at handling LTE battery gobbling, though. I believe it's been a successful effort because the battery performance I'm getting has been on 2 bars of LTE sitting in my office at work.

Sure, What device are you trying this with?

I appreciate your responses. I had very good luck with my note 2, with pretty much the and settings as this. One thing I am going to try tomorrow is using wcdma/gym instead of the lte. We aren't that lucky in South Eastern CT. Plus I do travel all day throughout the county for work, while I don't normally check to see if I have full service. Any other recommendations? The battery isn't terrible, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled all apps... Nothing is major in the battery manager.

I currently own a "laggy" S4 and thinking of moving to a Note 3. Are there any signs of lag on the Note at all?

Just thought I would post my battery stats for everyone. I'm actually going to leave it unplugged tonight and see how long it can go through tomorrow. Please add 6 hours to the time shown in the screenshot, as I restarted my phone in order to post the approximate reboot time earlier today. Since I am on WiFi now at home, the first 13 hours of the day were on LTE. I also should mention that I went from 80%-68% very quickly while transferring 300 MB worth of files over bluetooth from my GS3... thus far, it's the only kryptonite I've found for this phone.

I picked up the Note 3 from TMobile on Tuesday, and have a few questions. My previous phone was an iphone4s, and I use win7.

Has anyone been able to get the Smart Switch program to work? I'm having it freeze and fail on step 2. Smart Switch seemed to be the easiest way to transfer over contacts. I've submitted a ticket with Samsung tech support, but they've just said so far to uninstall and retry it, which I've done.

Is it possible to to change what widgets are on the lock screen? Looking at videos for other S4, they have the option to select Multiple Widgets, but I don't see that menu option for the settings / lock screen. I see some mention, for other Samsung phones, for using the Widget Locker app, but will this work on the Note 3? I had setup the lock screen with a PIN, thinking that if I left it to a swipe, it wouldn't recognize a swipe to change lock screens... whups. :-[

Hi, I ordered my note 3 on Vodafone UK today. Switching from iOS and wanted to ask: if anyone purchased music from iTunes did it play on Note 3? Just curious to find it out. Thanks!

In case if anyone is interested: 12-month 4G contract with Vodafone at ?57 a month (actually roughly ?51 with a student discount) unlim minutes, texts and 8GB of data. Plus an upfront cost of ?59. I consider it a bragain comparing to other networks. Don't know how much it is in the US :)

I don't think you can move your itunes purchases over to andriod.. But music there should be a way around getting your music onto your andriod.

This is not really a question for the phone performance, but does anyone know if this Note 3 phone is really region locked as stated before the release? I want one phone that works anywhere in the world as soon as I land. No figuring out which and buying a different SIM chip. Or going to a carrier to get a new SIM chip or a local reset/adjustment. It just works everywhere my a carrier exists like I was driving across town.

The way the lock works is that the first SIM inserted into the phone must be from the phone's region. After the initial use, it can then be unlocked just as any other phone. So basically, if you buy the U.S.version, it needs to be used with a U.S.carrier's SIM out-of-the-box. But if you did that and then immediately unlocked it, got on a plane to Europe and put in one of their SIM cards as soon as you landed, you'd be good to go.
