I have to re-enter my WiFi password everytime I turn my device on

[Android Central Question]

The device I own is an Acer tablet and the android version is 4.4.4 so it should be up to date (I have checked to see if it needed any updates). Everytime I turn my device on, I have to reconnect and re-enter my WiFi password. There is no option to auto-connect to the WiFi or to remember the password so I don't think I can do anything from settings. Other issues like my WiFi options disappearing and only reappearing once I turn off my device on and off have also been happening. My mum doesn't want me 'messing up' the router so I do not know what to do to fix this. Is there anything you could do to help?
