I im interested in buying a t-mobile phone to use, with my gen-mobile free phone

Is it possible to buy a T-mobile phone, so I can use it for a bring my own phone with my free phone account with Gen-mobile?

I'm curious why you want a T-Mobile phone., But I would check with the BYOD policy of your current carrier as to which phones you can use on the network
