I have a Samsung a8 tab.
Its getting slow now and I was thinking of a cheap but fast one in the S range?
Any ideas here? I just use it for emails, family videos, photos ,news etc.
I'm an oldie so just want a10" Samsung S tab thats faster.
W-Fi only.

Samsung Galaxy 10 lite sounds a good price? Tempted by the S10FE because of the updates. But a bit dear and aso maybe not need lots of updates, as getting old now:unsure: Maybe the last one so got to be reliable.
M A8 Tab takes ages just to start up!

I get why the S10 tab seems expensive! One thing I’ve found helpful when choosing between devices is to focus on what features you actually use daily. For example, if you mostly use it for browsing, social media, or light apps, the S10 Lite has great performance at a lower price, and the battery life is solid too.

Also, checking out reviews or tips on optimizing Android performance can make a mid-range device feel even snappier.

That is great advice for me thank you. I may not use the pen but I may take your advice too.

Thanks for all the help
I have bought the Samsung Galaxy tab S10 Lite
Am very happy with it apart from 2 thing
1. It has to be reconnected to wi-fi each time I switch it on.
2. Don't really use the Pen so worried I migt lose it lol
Congratulations! Go to Settings>Connections>Wi-fi, tap the gear icon next to your network, and make sure Auto Reconnect is toggled on.

Thanks but Done that no luck. Have to switch router on and off to get wi fi to work on the Tab but only stays on 5 mins most times. But other times it will stay on for ages. Never had this problem with other tablets before. Is it because I put it in a case? But I always do !!!!

When you say you switched the router on and off, do you mean you unplugged its power for about 30 seconds and then plugged it back in? This acts as a router reboot, and is always worth trying in a situation like this.

You may also want to log into the router's settings and make sure the DHCP range (i.e., the range of local IP addresses, or the total number of devices that can connect at the same time) hasn't been edited to be very narrow. (The default range is usually 255.)

Under Intelligent Wifi in the main Wifi Menu, do you have the following as per below?

Switch to better Wi-Fi networks - Off

Turn on Wi-Fi automatically - Off

Prioritize real-time data - On (not relevant)

Detect suspicious networks - On (not relevant)

Also may not be playing nice connection wise. Were both using Wifi 6 before (AC)? Some "user-friendly" consumer routers with a combined SSID are dumb and put devices it thinks are low priority on older Wifi 2.4ghz vs 5ghz (Wifi 6 is still 5ghz, stupid I know, 6e is 6ghz which your tablet isn't).

It might be putting it on 5ghz now and the tablet simply doesn't like the channel. I've come across that with Wifi 6 and 6e were certain devices just don't connect, stay connected or even see the Wi-Fi.

If you have separate SSIDs for each band, try putting it on the other and see if it still does it. Alternatively change the channel to something else and see if it stays connected.

Edit. Also if your tablet is set to use WPA3 for password, change it to WPA2. Another compatibility issue if seen
