i just bought a used android tablet and need to reset for my use. can anyone tell me how

i hooked it up to my pc and it is now showing leaves and the incorrect time on the screen. says no internet connection in bottom right corner and 2 of those symbols that mean its hooked up to a computer. wont let me do anything. what can i do to get in?
