I just bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy j2 but it said regional locked! help please

So I bought this phone because i want to use it oversees and also make the phone GSM Carrier worldwide and i contacted the seller and he told me to put a local American sim and call someone in America by making at least 5 min call which will make the phone carrier worldwide. I did put my T mobile sim in it and called a friend for 6 min. does that mean now when i take this phone to South east Asia, will it work with an international sim? Please help

If the region lock was removed then it should work anywhere. I would contact Samsung to confirm
