I Just Couldn't Decide...

Exactly. More convenient to only have to keep up with one device. But I still have my Macs, and iPad with no plans on selling those. So I'll probably just stick with iPhone and call it a day. This ride with the Note 5 has definitely been fun.

Yeah, it seems like a better choice for you. Good luck buddy.

Note in my house!

I have both the iPhone 6s Plus and a Note 5 on At&T. I switch back back and forth depending on what mood I'm in. Both great devices. I can't give up imessage, HD calls, Facetime, Facetime Audio, the ability to edit 4k videos on iMovie right on the phone, awesome 240fps slow motion video capture with audio.

I completely understand. A lot of people don't get it when I say I can't live without iMessage. I try to tell folks they'd actually have to use it to understand. Apple nailed it with iMessage. I hate them for making it so good and not opening it up to other platforms.

I'm in the same struggle right now between the iPhone 6 and Note 5. My 14 days with the Note 5 is up this Saturday and I need to make a decision. So far I love having the stylus and the screen for videos is surprisingly immersive on a 5.7" screen.

What I really like about iOS is the "limited" features it has, it works without any issues. I don't have go into bunch of settings to remove this, and disable that. And the battery life on the iPhone 6 is surprisingly comparable, maybe even better than the Note. The Note 5 is a bit faster I think but that's if you manage the ram correctly. The battery life is really poor out of the box. Apps don't play well with each other sometimes. ie: using both the Samsung Gallery app and Google Photos sometimes are not synced together. The dates of the photos are different so when you sort it they don’t appear properly. My Google voice search(holding down home button) no longer works for me, photos for each individual app is stored in its own app folder so its hard to find it later on. There’s definitely a bigger learning curve to Android of which I don’t know if I can learn it. But, still deciding!

Only think I can tell you is that the greatest thing in life are not the easiest ones, but the ones that you need to work a little for them. In this case, spending a little of time in the Initial Setup will greatly increase battery life not just in the Note 5 but in any Android phone, it's up to you to do it or not, but if you do, the reward is to have one of the best, if not the best smartphone there is right now.

I agree to a point but when I'm paying $840 for a phone I expect everything to be optimized out of the box. That's the strong point of iPhone. The premium price paid someone else to work at optimizing the device.

I know what you mean. This screen is gorgeous and the phone is blazing fast! I'm about to leave work and I'm literally still torn. Don't know if I should stop off at the Sprint store on my way home to return it. Luckily I didn't have to do a lot of tinkering. I'm getting pretty good battery life out of the box. The one is issue I did run into was the ipv6 Wi-Fi issue. But everything is all good since I got that straightened out.

Glad I'm not the only one going through this! Should have never watched that 100 cool things about Note 5 video!

If that's what you are looking for then yes, iPhone is your best bet, not even the Nexus with Pure Android will work the same out of the box, too many options, and even Google services and apps that come on by default, the same can't be said about iPhone, basically comparing apples to oranges in that regards.

I don't know what it is about iPhones. i always look at the latest iPhones before purchasing my Galaxy Note phones.(2, 3,4, and now 5)

It's strange because I have two iPads, 1 Macbook Pro, 1 Macbook Air, and two iMacs at home. In addition, each of my three TVs has the Apple TV connected to it. There are no longer any Windows computers in my home. (not counting the dual-book Macbook Air) At work, I also use the Mac Pro.

People just assume that I also use the iPhone. I've never bought any iPhones. They always look surprised when I pull out my big Galaxy Note phones. I'm really not sure what's wrong with me. :(

If iPhone 6s had Samsung pay, I would have bought an iPhone instead of galaxy s6

Well if you prefer the limited features of the iPhone then you have your answer of what you should do. The learning curve is there, just as it would be if you chose a Black Berry or Windows phone .

Does it take more hands on managing, of course it does, but that is the way Android phones work. They leave the optimization of it up to you to decide how You want it to work.

It's always been about choice and allowing you to decide how Your device setup. This does come with a price though ,especially when you are used to being told what you should do and accept and how your phone should work and look like .

In the end you have to decide if you want to manage your phone or let Apple do this for you and even as good as the Note 5 is it sounds like you are going to return it to the store and that's okay.......it's your choice and what works best for you.

Well, I made my decision. I returned the Note 5 this evening. Fantastic phone, but I knew I could never completely let go of my iPhone. As with many things, it's a matter of preference. Perhaps I'll reconsider own the road when all major US carriers support RCS, but for now I don't want to live without iMessage. I use it far too much and don't want to change my daily habits to deal with the limitations of SMS messaging.

I can certainly understand that. Good luck with your iPhone. Maybe we will see you around here still. You have a lot to offer the forums.

how do you use iMessage with people who don't have iPhones?

You can't. You'll need to use SMS, MMS, or some other chat app.

there are a little over 600 employees in my company. according to the IT guy, there are only 27 people whose personal phones are Android phones.(including myself) the rest are all iPhones. sometimes I wonder if I should just get the iPhone in order not to be left out of all the iMessages they're sending each other.

If I could make a.suggestion. I have the note 5 and just picked up a galaxy tab s2. 8.0. It's an awesome tablet. It actually reminds me.alot of an iPad but yet it's alot like my note 5 as well. I'm digging the duo devices working together on many levels.
