I find it fastest just to reinstall all the apps from the play store. It takes maybe a half hour. All my apps have cloud sync (e.g., mail, calendar, contacts, evernote, photos, etc.), so when I sign in with those apps, data is automatically restored. However, if you don't use apps with cloud sync, smartswitch, might be a good option.

I just did that a couple of months ago. Samsung Smart Switch and SMS Backup were what I used to transfer pretty much everything over that wasn't already on the cloud. Worked pretty well and quickly except for my SMS messages - I had a couple hundred MB of text messages and that took a while!
