I just need my phone!

Sent a text. Heard from my contact. Should hear something tomorrow.

Good luck. Hope you hear some good news. Any little bit of info helps ease the wait for me. Tried to load my order status and keep getting an error message. HaHa, gets my hopes up. Maybe they are updating the status?
Probably just a normal error, but a boy can have a dream!

Well the nice thing about getting it from Amazon is not only is it $149, but there's NO sales tax ($56 in CA), plus free shipping and NO restocking fee if you return it within the first 30 days. And if the device is defective, once you've done trouble shooting with Samsung, Amazon ships another NEW (not refurbished like Apple) and send a return shipping label so you're never without a phone.

I think I may just go ahead an pre-order a Blue GS3 since it's clearly going to be the flagship phone bar none. The One X screen is nice but after watching a Phone Dog.com dog fight between the GS3 and One X, it's clear the GS3 is the true winner in every area.. And the guy didn't even mention S Voice or many of the other features the One X doesn't have!

Is ANYONE here the LEAST bit concerned with the new device having issues? And yes, I'm a noob and haven't pulled the trigger on the GS3 yet, but I also want to have a good experience too. I think this phone rocks but I feel it's best to wait until it is in the stores so I can play with it. I've been waiting to get a new phone for over a year now, so another week or so won't hurt. Just curious if anyone here has any trepidation about getting something so new. Over in the HTC One X forum there are tons of folks there who are returning their phones due to problems.

Every launch day device, from every manufacturer, across many mobile OSs, that I've owned, has bugs. I'm talking probably 50ish "smart" devices throughout my obsession. Its a fact of life. The best you can hope for is they didnt miss a show stopper, and any bugs found are patched quickly.

It's the cost of being the elite guy but it hasn't stopped me from continuing to get launch day phones.

I totally agree. I have owned launch day devices of another OS platform and have been fortunate for the most part with no major bugs. It is all a matter of perspective in terms of whether you can live with them until they are patched. There are just some things that can't be caught until the device is dropped in the real world that field testing did not catch. Field testing can only be so long in this day of smartphones being released so quickly. If the issues are serious, then do an exchange for a new device or a return to wait for the next great device. I am upgrading from a BlackBerry to a launch day GS3 that I pre-ordered.

Just FYI, since some websites have suggested that ATT may be delaying a few days, I would put in my 2 cents. Chatted with an ATT rep last night and the official line is STILL that preorders will start to ship June 18th, based on first ordered first shipped.
I guess we will see soon enough!

Phonescoop has scheduled availability on June 18th instead of June21st as on most "credible" sites and sources, Maybe mine is already at the store.
