I killed my volume buttons

Murphy's Law.
I take phone out of my case and it slides out of my hand. Hits carpet and creases down the center of my volume rocker. It still works with certain cases, but I am using a volume app.
HTC says they don't offer repairs for out of warranty items. Not even for a fee.

Although it would bother me BIG TIME, I too would use a volume app to control volume. I had it happen on an iPad once. Fortunately in THAT case you can use the accessibility options to get built in on screen controls, works great also if your home button is broken. I could find no such options (at least not volume control) within Android.


Maybe try a self repair OR 3rd Party shop? Chances are though it will be difficult to find one that specializes on HTC.

It's just my OCD and HTC...I could fix it myself, but why mess up my screen?

RIGHT and even if you are really go problems CAN still happen if you dissemble your device. Those ribbon cables can break VERY easily!
