I Locked my husband's Phone and now I can't UNlock it!

I haven't pulled the trigger yet to do a FR. Verizon store said if they had my Google pw they could unlock my phone. I couldn't remember it so I had to drive back home to get it. Waiting on a return phone call from the store. In fact the lady at Verizon said I wouldn't be able to do a FR without being logged into my phone. If that was the case, anyone could steal a phone and FR it. Worst day ever :( There is a good chance both of our phones are trashed (according to Verizon lady).

The Samsung option didn't work either and I'm thisclose to being out of attempts on trying to unlock it. Don't understand why there are no options to unlock your phone once you've locked it :o

We don't use any kind of security log in protocol. Just too much of a hassle to enter a PIN etc. The only help I can find by Googling is related to unlocking the phone when you've forgotten your password/PIN

Factory reset in recovery you will need your Google account to unlock it

The S9 has a fingerprint sensor - how hard can that be?

Since it probably doesn't matter if you share the password here, can you tell us what password you selected when you used Find My Device to remotely lock the phone? I'm just wondering if there's some typo you keep entering that we might be able to figure out. Of course, I realize that you only have one more attempt left, but there may not be much other choice.

Many other phones don't do the auto-wipe after a certain number of failed attempts (I don't think it happens with Pixels), so unfortunately that's probably a Samsung feature that's working against you.

She locked the phone remotely only because her husband did not have any security method setup on the phone. Because, as she stated, it was too much trouble.

That won't work on a phone that was locked remotely or a device who's security has timed out to the point where a pin code is required.

Sorry, mistook your response as trying to help solve the problem which is what we try to we do here.

Although I always strongly recommend some kind of screen lock, the fingerprint sensor on some phones can be a little temperamental, so I can see why sometimes a user might not want to use it. Otherwise, even a simple PIN or pattern is better than nothing. But I'm guessing monicakm and her husband realize this now.

Yeah OP used Google find my phone to lock it down but I was trying give alternative by using Samsung remotely log in and unlock. Since Verizon interferes with this again, guess not a option so only thing to do at this point factory reset through recovery.

Can Samsung find my phone unlock it when Google Device Manager locked it?

Never tried before but I'm pretty sure it can, you sign in with your same Samsung account on the phone, but if you did not sign into on phone won't work.

See my screen shot what it can do. 20200618_235431.jpeg

Verizon doesn't support Samsung's findmymobile. I only had the option to erase and lock.

Husband's phone is back up and all is well (for him). When he got home from work, I entered the password I was prompted to set up when I remotely locked his phone. I opened it on the first try. Then I had to go into settings and choose "none" as a lock screen as it still wanted to "swipe up" to unlock. The password was galaxys9+dpm. I'm down to one more attempt for my phone and am not taking a chance. I'll call my local Verizon store in the morning.

Lock screen...I pick up my phone 100x a day. I'm just not willing to unlock it 100x a day :o My husband has Essential Tremors. Signing in 50x a day is going to slow down his productivity and make him uncomfortable around others.

As for my own phone locking snafu, I didn't enter a password before inadvertently locking my device. It didn't ask for one. I was back and forth from my account to his, had 20 windows open as I was Googling and reading multiple how to directions when all of the sudden...BAM! I had locked myself out of my own phone!

Yeah, but at least you got one phone working

If your husband is not going to screen lock his phone - he may want to try Norton's App Lock (Play Store) - so he can lock individual apps - email, phone use, contacts, etc - and use a variety of methods to unlock each used app, the best might be pattern swipe.

He can leave other apps unlocked for quicker access, camera, photos, music, etc. Very customized.

BTW - if you haven't, activate backup options on the phone in case of future events.

In your situation, you should be able to unlock your phone with the password/PIN you'd been using before that. It doesn't recognize that? Find My Device will only let you create a screen lock password remotely if the phone didn't have a screen lock set in the first place. If it already does have a screen lock, then all you can do is remotely lock it (using the screen lock that already exists on the phone).

I got a Verizon unlocked device.
Took the OL phone to the Verizon store.
Had them to set it up so I could use find my mobile and track her.

I think you mean the Google version...Find My Device which works on all Android devices. Find My Mobile is exclusive to Samsung and will only work on Verizon if you have an unbranded unlocked Samung device.
