I lost half of my contacts, how can I get them back?

lost half of my contancts

I deleted my old google account from my phone but I forgot that I have many old contacts saved on that account.then i added this account back on my phone but my contacts are still missing..
what should I do?

Go into the setting for the account and press restore to this device this should update contacts
