I Lost my contacts on my Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

yesterday and while updating the software of my Galaxy Note Edge, the phone restarted and i cant access my contacts the normal way any more, lost my logs and my favorites.

every time i try to log to my contacts it gives me a message UPDATING CONTACT LIST. also i cant save any new contact

Help Please.

Welcome to Android Central! When it restarted, did it look like it was doing a factory reset? Did you have to go through the Setup Wizard again?

Where were your contacts saved to originally? Were they associated with your Google account, or only saved locally to the Phone account?
