Hello,

Yesterday i lost my android nexus 7 device , and as i know it will happen one day , i installed all the security applications on it like (lookout). so when he open it i'll be able easily to detect his location.

But the problem that the device has a strong Unlock pattern , and almost the one who stole it , reset it to the factory state.

are there any way to detect the location using the serial number ?

if i contacted samsung germany . are they helpful.

for the security specialists , please if you know a way to detect it's location remotly , let me know

All Respect

You can try to use your computer and communicate with Lookout to detect your device location.

the main problem that the theift wouldn't be able to open the device because it has a strong unlock pattern , so he wouldn't be able to conect to the internet and i guess he will reset the all device

are there any way to detect it'S location with the serial number ?

All I can think of is to lodge a police report with your serial number and/or your imei number.

If the GPS is on Lookout should be able to track it's location even if the person who, found/stole the device doesn't turn it on.

I know it works differently on a phone, but my wife lost her phone, and we were able to track it to a store where she had shopped.

If he factory reset you are sol. I don't think lookout will survive that. If you were rooted and used cerberus, it can be set up to survive a reset.

i check the lookout regularely and the last location was my location at the UNI 2 days ago , i think it doesn't work withoud internet and it doesn't survive from the factory reset :( . that's why i hope there is a way to track it from the serial number

for the police report , i don't know the procedures in germany but i'll ask about it

I don't know how it works in your country though. Good luck finding it.
