lost over 800 photos on nexus 10 tablet in photos app after upgrading to 5.0

Had 800 plus photos transferred from gallery to photos app on my nexus 10 tablet but they are gone after upgrading to 5.0. Can anyone help me find where they might be?

Did you have sync to Google+ turned on, if so they are automatically backed up. If not, then don't panic so long as you didn't overrite the data you may be able to get them back. I found some links today that I bookmarked for this occassion. How to recover deleted photos on Android - AndroidPIT I hope this helps, I have not tried it myself, but it could help.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you clarify something--what do you mean by transferring the pictures from Gallery to Photos? Any photos that are stored locally in a directory get displayed in both the stock Gallery app and the Google+-related Photos app (the one with the pinwheel icon). If you didn't have Google+ Auto-Backup turned on, then those photos don't automatically sync to your Google account in the cloud, as Raptor007 alluded to.

Regardless, though, a system update shouldn't affect any locally stored user data. Have you tried a file manager app like ES File Explorer to look for those files?
