I love my Evo but oh my God does Sprint Navigation suck.

Sprint Nav Blows..

I used Sprint Nav yesterday & it kepted telling me the wrong area I was at. It worked well on my pre, is it the app or EVO's gps?

Google offers many other navigation services.
If SprintNav doesn't work, try Navigator.

I haven't tried SprintNav yet on my Evo... but yes, it worked great on my Pre.

The opposite is true for me Sprint Nav was horrible on my Pre I could hardly ever get a consistent gps signal. It works great on my Evo though, as long as I have Gps on I have no problem getting the correct location every time.

I like Sprint Nav better then the google one. But, make sure your real GPS is on. It does not do so good with the aGPS (cell tower). Plus there is an update for it if you have not downloaded it yet.

Generally, if Sprint Nav says you're in a different place, it's an issue with your GPS lock, not the app. Sprint Nav is actually an extremely good piece of software, Google Nav just one ups it on features. (Sprint Nav does have much better speech though)

I like Google navigator better mainly because it will lower the music when saying the directions. Both have worked well for me in terms of accuracy.

New to EVO, how do I know I have real gps on?

I happened to use the Sprint Nav app on my Evo Saturday night and it worked better than my Pre and my v950. I personally haven't had any Sprint Nav issues yet..

My Evo Sprint navigation acts dumb at times, lags!, and gets me lost. However, unlike my Pre, I always get a signal. On my Pre, it was like 50/50 to even get a signal. If no signal, I had to shut the phone down... 5 minute wait! When Sprint navigation is sucking, Google navigaton for the win.

Tap Menu > Settings > Location and turn all three options ON.

Once you have all 3 on, both Sprint Navigation and Google Navigator will work great.

Got them set, I don't get why it got me lost & telling me "searching for new route" & telling me I'm blocks away. Updated also..weird

when you travel don't you get a gps with your rental? are people using sprint nav just for kicks? since june 4th i've never used sprint nav. is it handier than a gps unit?

I used Sprint Nav quite a bit on my Blackberry, I love the Google Nav on the Evo. I've had a few times where it didn't get my location just perfect but overall it's just nicer to look at and runs smoother. I mean jeez, it's free people. Try that on an iPhone.

I have used Sprint on my Blackberry several versions, Hero, and Evo. I also use Delorme on my netbook with a separate gps receiver. I also use Google which is getting better and better. This spring going thru middle TN while it was flooding we were using all three simultaneous and Sprint got us there their traffic is excellent. Sprint has done it before too, but if I only had one it would be Delorme on netbook bigger screen and building a route with multiple stops is easier. Even though I have went to Sprint Nav site and built route then downloaded it to phone.

i started out thinking Sprint NAV was better. now i always use Google NAV/Maps instead. why? it's just faster and easier.

Ok, I am going to take back what I said earlier about Sprint navigation. On the evo it takes forever to open claiming its "logging in" which it never did on my instinct. If it takes this long to open I am going to have to use Google maps because in my Job I don't have 2 minutes to waste waiting on a program to open.

I noticed this too on my EVO. One to five minutes to "log in". My wife's Samsung Exclaim is logged in almost immediately!

While SN was quirky on my Pre, it worked well and I was expecting a better and faster experience on the EVO.

Used TeleNav with no problems... mostly.

The traffic warnings worked a couple times.

As a Tarheel, maybe it just doesn't like Bluedevil businesses... :)
