and unlocked the bootloader and rooted the Nexus 6 using the Nexus Root Toolkit, which automated a somewhat tense situation. In reality, it was terrifically easy, taking only a few minutes. I couldn't be happier. Now I think I will try to find a good case.

Unlocking the bootloader is a good thing to do right off the bat, since it erases everything in the internal storage. Glad it went well. Now you get to have fun with all the things you can do with root access, and perhaps flashing ROMs.

I've installed a tap to wake app, a reboot app, and Greenify. In truth, there isn't a whole lot I want to do with root access, but I do want to use it some.

For me, root is most important for tools like titanium backup and battery tools like GSAM, which need root for full stats. When you have a custom recovery, a full backup and a full set of app backups, you can become fearless with playing around with system mods.

Granted, those customization bits are fun too.☺
