I need help Rooting my4G

Ive tried to root my evo 4G and have not had any luck it pushes the root and goes through pretty much all the process till what seems to be the last step that last reboot it says wait for reboot ( safe to restart if doesnt work ) what do i do from here...i have all the files needed and everything i just dont know where to go from here or do i need something else..anybody got any ideas
