You seemed to have missed the point, being that it is not HTCs fault on the quality control of refurb units. Its the responsibility of the companies issuing them out, ie. Verizon and Assurion.

That is not the only positive what so ever. It has a blazing fast processor, the camera is spectacular for what I use it for (there are always mixed reviews, but for me it is exceptional.) The speaker is loud and clear, sense UI is smooth an not too entirely obtrusive, but the display is its selling point. Watching Avatar on my phone (which I can easily with the 5" screen) yields an equal if not better image than my 42" HD Sony Plasma. The beats audio, though considered a gimmick, sounds amazing through my Prius' speakers, the hardware itself is beautiful with a soft touch back and red accents (although not for everyone), feedback is swift and smooth, my battery life is stellar for a battery of this size supplying for a phone of this aptitude. I have no problems with my phone at this time. I have had the sim issue twice, but not in 2 months. Verizon approved an HTC update that is to roll out any day now to approve that problem. I have not had the Bluetooth issues, GPS issues, or display issues that have supposedly plagued other devices. But I can say that my husband's note 2 is chalked full of issues as well, with this being his second and a refurb, (the first had an unresponsive patch in the middle of the screen) and if it weren't for his work schedule, he would also be sending in for his second refurb.
Correction: the update has been rolled out, just installed it on my phone.

Actually you have missed the point entirely.There are obvious reasons that Samsung is the #1 cell phone manufacturer in the world and htc isn't even in the top 5 and if you continue to ignore them you'll continue to suffer the consequenses.

If having a device that suites my every needs, has extraordinary build, and flies through everything I throw at it is considered "consequences," then I will continue to ignore these so called reasons for Samsung's "superiority" over HTC. Which, lets face it, is really only due to massive universal marketing and extensive funds. But you'll of course deny that and claim that Samsung is "intuitive" and the god of cell phone creation.

and yes Samsungs rise from the bottom to the top in a few short years had to do with nothing but massive funds and nothing to do with reputation, even you can't believe that one.
Looks dont determine an individuals intellect, so if you can counter anything I have said, in this thread or any, please feel free to do so with hard proof.

hard proof ?? like all the hard proof you've posted? I've already posted hard proof and that's all the person making this phone selection will need darling. I'm sure they will see right thru your spin and when they do a simple search will see the obvious.
If you insist. I stalked the AC forums on both the GN2 and DNA before making my decision and you see what I decided. That being said, I have recommended the GN2 before, when the DNA is not in the line-up. Phone selection differs from preference, and I preferred a phone, not a phablet. That also being said, I have spent significant time with the note 2 and the DNA and I still stand firm behind my decision. The note 2 is a great device, no doubt. But it is not for me. If you are happy with your device, so be it. I am not coming over to the note 2 forums and blasting its plasticity and cartoonish UI.

Everyone has their opinions. I happen to have the Note2 and have none of the issues you have mentioned. I have had 3 HTC devices and sense UI is decent. I ended up having problems with all 3 devices which was unfortunate. I see no problem with Touchwiz and I have been very pleased with my experience. No lagging no screen freezing up on me. No sound issues. Pure perfectionin my opinion

With most of these newer phones there are likely to be software glitches or factory duds and that's what I think my husband is suffering from on his note 2. It is also what many of these DNA users who send in for replacements are plagued with. It just makes it even worse that Verizon and Assurion are passing less than subpar refurbished units as replacements.

I will state once again that the thread in which you are linking is about refurbished units. HTC has no control over the quality of refurbished units issued through Verizon or Assurion. HTC droid DNAs can be returned and replaced by refurbs for a variety of reasons. Cracked screens, bent bezels, dead pixels, burnt out lights, broken charger ports. These are all viable problems with any phone type. The note 2 is too big for the op, like they said, and they are trying to choose between the s3 and the DNA. I advised that the DNA is a great device. I have no experience with s3 and therefore cannot comment on it. I stick to my advice that between the s3 and the DNA, that the DNA is a spectacular device and I would choose it again.

I side with the pretty lady on this one. I owned the S3 and replaced it with the DNA. I have had zero issues with the DNA in the last four months. I prefer the UI, audio playback and of course the screen. I have enjoyed better battery life with the DNA than the S3. I prefer the build and the feel of the DNA. But, in the end it is all about you and what you like and what makes your tummy tickle!

S3...Note2...or DNA. Lets see. I've had all 3. Both Samsung devices didn't get radio reception like my DNA does. Yes... ALL of my devices are rooted. So I had the opportunity to flash my eyes out and modify whatever. Hands down. DNA. That's my opinion. I can agree and disagree with some of the posts, but at the end of the day. I will recommend the DNA.

Good advice, but it seems the person in search of the device is really only trying to choose between the s3 and DNA. comes out. They have been offered a trade, 150+ the DNA is a pretty good deal. Id jump on it in a heart beat if the phone were in pristine condition.
