I need help.

This may not be the right section, but here it goes.

I Finally rooted my Optimus S, and I went to to the custom recovery.

Everytime I try to use the 'adb shell' to flash the phone, I get a $ symbol.

I've tried typing 'su' first to have Superuser give me access to no avail.

I'm pretty new at this, but I could REALLY use some help.

I'm pretty sure Z4root doesn't work with our software anymore. Try out Gingerbreak/Gingersnap in the Rooting and Roms section.

What version are you running?
Z4root does not work with ZVD.

I guess I didn;t explain. I installed z4root before I did the gingerbreak. I used z4root just to make sure it showed the phone as rooted. The next step in the thread is the Xionia Clockworks. And that's where I get stuck...

You're getting stuck because you're probably not rooted.

Z4root will say your phone is rooted even when its not! It does not work with zvd.

What was the last thing the phone said when you did gingerbreak?
Have you tried gingersnap? That is something like z4root but made for ZVD? YOU still need computer for this one click method though

Completed. Still getting the $ when I try to run the adb.

So when I got the dollar sign, I just typed in SU, then Superuser asked for permission on the phone.

As soon as I told the phone to allow it, The # appeared
