I have not been using my SR regularly enough to make a firm answer as I have been leaving it at home till I get a case and screen protector. Based on my use in a LTE area (DFW) I would say it will be a bit shorter than the SGSII, certainly not longer ( I had the SGSII for three weeks). Just a guess based on my limited use. I have only fully charged and discharged twice since getting it Sunday because I have not been using it regularly, so my batter has not yet hit full capacity.

Not a great answer, but I wanted to respond.

I totally agree with this question and the original poster. No one is really responding on this topic. I have the SGSII as well and I'm strongly considering the Skyrocket, but only if the battery life on LTE is acceptable. I'm been constantly looking for dependable reviews....but each review says something like this "battery life is reportedly X" or "we didn't use it in an LTE area so we can't comment on the battery life".

We're suffering from a lack of information here. I want to do the Skyrocket, but I don't want to get stuck with a phone with awful battery life.

Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket Review - Android Phone Reviews by MobileTechReview

Here is a review from the DFW area (LTE) and she talks about battery life.

I have a similar situation here. SR is my first android phone. Like it. But the battery is really not good at this point. Light to medium use, and the battery won't last even 6 hours... Fully charged before going to bed, and the next morning it's only about 80% left.. Either this battery is bad or I must be something wrong here. :'(

I would say you either have a bad battery, or a rogue app that is keeping the phone awake or constantly trying to sync info. I have 2 hours of usage on mine right now, and my battery is at 96%. I'm using Juice Defender Plus, which has really helped the life of my battery.

Not as good as my Captivate which could go about 2 days. With the SR I can leave in the morning fully charged. Will need to charge it in the evening around 7PM. No LTE here.
Not complaining considering the specs. It's a beast..

No LTE here..yet, however I am getting about 12 hours of battery life with the following running;
BeWeather, Wifi, 4G, live wallpaper(koi pond), about an hour a day on web, 10-20 calls and around 50 sms and 60 gmails. not bad IMHO

fwiw, my first full day using the sky today (traveling in Portland, which I believe is a non LTE market?) netted only 7.5 hours. This from 2 very short calls, moderate data use (traffic monitor reported approx 40 MB cell data for the day), a short video clip <1 min, and around 20 pix. Screen timeout is 15s, fwiw.

I'm very much hoping to see this improve... I understand from postings here that the battery tends to perform better after being "conditioned"by several charge/full discharge cycles?

Here's the battery usage chart for the session...

doh!I just realized that the 7'5 hours was starting from battery at approx 80%...so take that fwiw.

OK. This is almost exactly what happened on my phone one day ago. Now my phone last for about 13 hours with some moderate usage and still have 40% battery left.
All you need to do is keep your phone charged another 7-8 hours after it said it's fully charged.
And don't drain your battery completely out before charging it. :)

From a full charge, My phone took 31 hrs to reach 18% on the battery. In that time I did a little navigation (about 10 minutes), a couple hours of talking, some on speaker, about 30 minutes of web, 20+ minutes of youtube, a couple of app downloads, quite a bit of general playing around on the phone, took a coupel pictures, sent abut 5 text messages, use of Maps for some phone numbers and traffic info.... Yes, I'm on LTE and boy is it fast! 45Mps download in one area I was in. 12-20Mps in most places so far.

Wow...my battery life is no where near there...I had mine at work yesterday....very mild use really, and it was just under 20% in about 7 hours....and thats been the norm for it over the last couple days. I too am in an LTE market and usually have coverage.... Wonder if mine is the norm or if it abnormal and needs a fix.

That's insane battery life! Any special settings or apps you've installed to be able to obtain that?
