I need to be able to type text also how do I put that on

Are used to have type text and voice text I could choose but now I can only get voice text but not type text anymore and I can't even choose it anywhere that I can find

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are you saying that whenever you tap a blank text field, the keyboard app only gives you the microphone and a Speak Now prompt? Is it in TalkBack mode? https://support.google.com/accessibility/android/answer/6283677?hl=en&ref_topic=3529932

Or do you see a tiny little box with some dots in it that looks like a tiny keyboard? If you do, tap that and you'll have your keyboard.
