I need to extract data from a tablet despite a couple barriers.

My android tablet tends to say "you're connected to a computer, click here for options" and I have to select "media file transfer" or something in order to access all my files on my computer.

Eeeexcept my screen is broken. When I was repairing the charger port (and I was successful at that!) I pulled a couple pins out of the cable connecting the screen to the motherboard.

Truth is I can't tell if I still have touchscreen functionality either.

Is there a way to push my way through and force a copy of the data from my tablet to my PC?

I'm operating on Linux Mint 19.1.

Welcome to Android Central! I don't think so. The tablet has to be set for file transfer, which is typically not default.
