I never see notifications from Market for updates?

I always have to check manually and never seen a thread about this. Also the option to automatically update the apps never works either. That automatic updating has never seemed to work correctly on any of my two previous Androids. Some apps it works, others it doesn't. Or sometimes the automatic update will initiate after I manually go into "My apps". Is anyone else experiencing things like this?

Yup its never worked for me either. Tried lots of tricks and still no go. I just turned it off.

Nope works for me. Auto and notifications no issues and I have had a few androids

Works for me too, I think it takes a day or so for it to notify you.
